Paid Minesweeper Challenges: Win Your Entry Fee Back

A skill-based challenge with real stakes — pay an entry fee, hit your win target, get it all back automatically.

Bean Boom's paid minesweeper challenges turn casual puzzle sessions into a personal tournament with rewards. Each challenge charges a small entry fee, sets a win target on a fixed difficulty, and gives you a time period to achieve it. Reach the goal and your fee is refunded in full, automatically, via PayPal. It is the purest form of a skill-based puzzle game with prizes: the only thing standing between you and your money back is your own minesweeper skill.

How Paid Challenges Work

  1. Pick a challenge. Browse active challenges in the game — each one defines a difficulty (Easy, Medium, or Hard), a target number of wins, an entry fee in USD, and a time period.
  2. Pay the entry fee via PayPal. You approve the payment on PayPal's own checkout page. Your challenge starts the moment the payment is confirmed.
  3. Win games in Classic Mode. Every win on the challenge's difficulty counts toward your target. Wins are verified on the server (more on that below).
  4. Hit the target — get refunded automatically. The instant your final required win is verified, the full entry fee is refunded to your PayPal account. No claims, no forms, no waiting for approval.

Why It's Not Gambling

These are skill-based challenges, not games of chance. Minesweeper is a deterministic logic puzzle — given the same board, a stronger player wins more often, every time. There is no random payout, no odds, and no house edge on your ability:

Fairness & Anti-Cheat: Server-Side Replay Verification

Every win is verified by replay

When you win a game, your client submits a complete action log — every reveal, every flag, in order. The server replays the entire game from that log and recomputes the result itself. Only wins the server independently confirms count toward your challenge progress. A faked or tampered submission simply fails verification.

Deterministic boards, no server favoritism

Boards are generated from a seed recorded in the log, so the server can rebuild the exact board you played. Your first click is always safe — on every difficulty, in every game.

Refunds are automatic and retried

Refunds are issued by the server the moment your target is reached — not by a human reviewing claims. If a refund transaction ever fails, a scheduled job automatically retries it until it succeeds.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do paid minesweeper challenges work?

You pay a small entry fee via PayPal to join a challenge. Each challenge sets a difficulty, a time period, and a target number of wins. Every verified win in Classic Mode counts toward your goal. Reach the target within the period and your entry fee is automatically refunded in full to your PayPal account.

Is this gambling?

No. Bean Boom challenges are skill-based, not games of chance. The board is fully solvable by logic, every win is verified by server-side replay, and success depends entirely on your puzzle-solving ability.

How is cheating prevented?

Every win is verified by server-side replay: the server replays your entire game from the recorded action log and recomputes the result itself. Only server-confirmed wins count toward challenge progress.

When do I get my refund?

Automatically, the moment your final required win is verified. It arrives as a PayPal refund to the account you paid with. Failed refund transactions are retried by a scheduled job until they succeed.

What happens if I don't reach the target in time?

If the challenge period expires before you reach the target number of wins, the entry fee is not refunded. That is the idea: the fee is a commitment device that motivates you to actually play and improve.

Can I join a challenge more than once?

Yes. After completing a challenge and receiving your refund, you can rejoin the same challenge while it is still active — many players use their favorite difficulty as a recurring personal goal.

Which game mode counts toward challenges?

Only Classic Mode wins count, so results reflect genuine minesweeper skill. Egg Mode games (with chain-boom scoring) do not count toward challenge progress.
